Skirmish at Accotink VA

Accotink, VA, Jan. 12, 1864. Four of the force of Provost- Marshal Gen. Wells, at Alexandria and some members of the Accotink home-guard. Had an encounter near Accotink with six cavalrymen of Gordon's brigade, Hampton,S division. The Confederates about sunrise had captured citizens and A Number of horses near Accotink. Wells, Force pursued them, retook the citizens and horses, captured 2 Confederate prisoners and the horses and equipment of the whole party.
