Biographies:

A Biography of Charles H. Burke

Charles H. Burke, representative, was born in Genesee county, N. Y., April 1, 1861. He received a liberal education; removed to South Dakota in 1889, where he studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1886. He was married Jan. 14, 1886, to Caroline Schlosser and engaged in practice at Pierre. He was a representative in the state legislature 1894-96, and was elected a representative at large to the 56th, 57th, and 58th congresses as a Republican 1899-1905.
