Biographies:

John Matthew Clancy Biography

John Matthew Clancy, representative, was born in Ireland, May 7, 1837. He immigrated with his parents to Brooklyn, N.Y., where he was educated in the public schools, and entered active business life. He was an alderman of the city of Brooklyn, 1868-75; a member of the state assembly, 1878-81; and was a Democratic representative in the 51st, 52nd and 53rd congresses, 1889-95. He died in Butte, Mont., July 25, 1903.
