Biographies:

Biography of Charles Byron Bellinger

Charles Byron Bellinger, jurist, was born in Maquon, Ill., Nov. 21, 1839. He was educated at Willamette university, Salem, Ore., was admitted to the bar in 1863, and engaged in practice at Portland, Ore. He was clerk and official reporter of the state supreme court. 1874-'78; judge of the state circuit court, 1878-'80, and U.S. district judge for the district of Oregon, from 1893.

MAQUON, a thriving post-village of Knox co., Illinois, on Spoon river, about 100 miles N. N. W. from Springfield. It has a valuable water-power, and contains several stores.






Maquon is situated 193 meters above sea level.
