Biographies:

Wilson S. Bliss

Wilson S. Bliss, a furniture dealer on Main street, Center Point; born in Springfield, Mass., Jan. 1, 1813; located in Tioga Co., Penn., 1826, and in this county 1855. Married Miss Julia Whitman 1840; she was born in Almira, N. Y., 1822; they have three children--George C., born Jan. 9, 1841; Jane E., Dec. 7, 1843; Edgar F., Oct. 7, 1846. They are Congregationalists. He is a Republican. He has successfully carried on the furniture and cabinet making business for the last ten years; he owns his store building and lot, and other improved property in the city. He has been School Director three years, and Treasurer one year. A genealogy of the Bliss family is being prepared, tracing it back to the Mayflower arrivals at Plymouth Rock.
